Sections

All exams within the Test Invite consists of Sections.

By dividing your exams into sections, you can take the exams in several parts (reading, comprehension, voice response, etc.).

Adding a New Section:

How to add a new section to your exam:

  1. Open the Exam in Exam Editor.Open your exam the exam,
  2. Press the red icon (section creation) on bottom right to add a new Section.
NOTE

Each new section you add to your exam will be added to the bottom.

When creating each Section:

  • It will be created with 1 blank page,
  • You can delete this page after adding more pages.
  • This page is created with default settings,
  • You must edit the Starting Content, Title, Going Forward-Backward, Random Sorting, and Time Limit settings.

WARNING: Any changes you make to a section and settings in the Exam Editor are saved instantly. It’s irreversible.

Deleting a Section

How to delete a Section from your Exam:

  1. Open the Exam in Exam Editor.Open your exam the exam,
  2. Press the 3 dots on the far right of the line of the Section you want to delete .
  3. From the pop-up menu, press the Delete button.

WARNING: Once a section is deleted in the Exam Editor, it becomes inaccessible. It cannot be undone.

Section Settings

How to edit the Settings of a Section within your Exam:

  1. Open the Exam in Exam Editor.Open your exam the exam,
  2. Press the gear icon on the same line of the Section.
  3. The Section Settings window will open.

From the Section Settings window, you can change:

  • Title
  • Starting content
  • Going Forward-Backward
  • Random Sorting
  • Time Limit settings.

When you check the Starting content box:

  • A new Rich Text Field opens where you can enter content.
  • All content you enter in this field will be displayed the first time an Applicant opens this Section:
    • You can write general information about this section and/or what Applicants should pay attention to when answering the questions.
    • This area is specific to sections only. Not used on pages.
    • In a Section with a Time Limit, the Startup Content does not start the timer.

Section Title

How to assign a Title to Section:

  1. Open the Exam from the Exam Editor.
  2. Press the gear icon on the same line of the Section,
  3. The Section Settings window will open.
  4. Type the Title you want in Title field and press Save.

Section Sorting & Randomizing

If there is more than one Section in an exam, you can arrange these Sections’ order at random for each Applicant.

How to sort Sections randomly:

  1. Open the Exam from the Exam Editor.
  2. Press the gear icon on top right,
  3. The Exam Settings window will open.
  4. Select the Shuffle Sections center down and press Save.

How to fixate the order of some Section while the Sections are sorted randomly:

  1. Open the Exam from the Exam Editor.
  2. Click the 3 dots on the left of the Section’s row.
  3. Select Keep the Order Fixed

If you want the order to be set again at random,

  1. Click the 3 dots on the left of the fixed Section’s row.
  2. Select Don’t Keep the Order Fixed.

Going Forward-Backward in Sections

How to set the permissions to move back and forth between sections:

  1. Open the Exam from the Exam Editor.
  2. Press the gear icon on top right,
  3. The Exam Settings window will open.
  4. Select the one you want from the drop-down box below:
    1. Allow going forward & backward: Applicants can go to the page they want in the exam section.
    2. Allow only going backward: Applicants start the exam in the order given and can only go back to the Sections that they passed.
    3. Don’t allow going forward & backward: Applicants start the exam in the order given and cannot jump to another section without finishing the current section.
  5. and press Save.

Section Time Limit

How to add a Time Limit to a Section:

  1. Open the Exam from the Exam Editor.
  2. Press the gear icon on the same line of the Section,
  3. The Section Settings window will open.
  4. At the bottom right, click on No Time Limit.
    1. The default is 3600 seconds.
  5. Change the time limit as desired and press Save.
