Pages

All Exams in the Test Invite consist of Sections and all Sections consists of Pages.

Your Content and Questions are on the Pages you create.

Adding a Page

How to add a new Page:

  1. Open the Exam in Exam Editor,
  2. Press the red icon (page creation) on bottom right of the Section you want to create your Page in to add a new Page.
  3. A Popup menu will open:
    1. Page: Create a Blank Page.
    2. Random Page Picker: To select one or more Pages from multiple of Pages for each Applicant.
    3. Page Builder: Select Questions from your Question Bank and system will automatically create pages for those accordingly.
    4. Import Pages: To create multiple pages by Quickly typing Questions and Choices.
NOTE

As soon as you add a page in the Exam Editor, the exam is instantly updated and saved.

Random Page Picker

You can use the Random Page Picker to randomly select some of the pages from a group of pages for each Applicant. This way every Applicant will have a unique Exam experience.

How to add a Random Page Picker to your Exam:

  1. Open the Exam in Exam Editor,
  2. Press the red icon (page creation) on bottom right of the Section where you want to add a Random Page Picker,
  3. Select the Random Page Picker from popup menu.
    1. The Random Page Picker will come with 1 blank page by default.
    2. You can add more Pages to the group.
    3. The minimum number of Pages can’t be less than 1.

The Pages will appear to the Applicants as you designed them.

How to set how many Pages to pick with Random Page Picker:

  1. Press the gear icon in the row of the Random Page Picker group,
  2. Change the value of No of pages to randomly pick in the popup window.
    1. This value cannot be higher than the total number of Pages that are under the Random Page Picker group.
    2. The number of Pages cannot be less than this value.
      1. You can delete these Pages and the group by simply deleting the group.

Page Builder

You can use the Page Builder to import random Questions from your Question Bank on a set of Pages. This way every Applicant will have a unique Exam experience.

How to add a Page Builder in your Exam:

  1. Open the Exam in Exam Editor,
  2. Press the red icon (page creation) on bottom right of the Section where you want to add a Page Builder,
  3. Select the Page Builder from popup menu.
  4. The Page Builder window will open.
  5. Switch to the Select Questions tab and select the questions you want.
  6. Switch to the Settings tab and edit the Settings as desired,
  7. Click on the SAVE button at the bottom of the Settings section.

The image above shows a screenshot of the Page Builder window. In order:

  • 1: Settings tab: the tab that open by default. From this tab, you can edit the general settings of the Page Builder.
  • 2: Select Questions tab: from this tab you can select your questions from your Question Bank to use in Page Builder.
  • 3: Close: to close this window without saving your changes.
  • 4: Title: To give a title to the page you created with Page Builder.
  • 5: No. of Questions to Randomly select: to set how many questions will be randomly selected separately for each candidate.
    • For example, if you have 100 ready questions in an exam where you want each Applicant to answer only 10 questions, you can randomly select 10 of these 100 questions for each Applicant.
  • 6: in n Questions: Displays the total number of questions you have selected. No. of Questions to Randomly select and No. of Pages to build cannot exceed this value.
  • 7: Required: Determines whether the Applicants are required to answer these questions during the examination. If you do so, they cannot proceed to another page without answering these questions.
  • 8: No. of Pages to build: Determines how many pages will be created for Questions
    • For instance, you’ve chosen 10 random questions to be selected and you want to distribute these questions on 3 pages, then these questions will be distributed as 4-3-3.
  • 9: Time limit per question: explained below.
  • 10: Question’s Point: The questions that you choose from the Question Bank, have their own Points, but this section overrides them.
  • 11: Additional Point Calculations: Dimension Scorings of the Questions will be empty when you use the Page Builder. You can set the Dimension Scoring for all these Questions here.
  • 12: Save: press this button to save your changes.

Time limit per question

You can calculate and assign an automatic Time Limit for each page by activating the Time limit per question in the Page Builder window.

EXAMPLE #1:

Settings:

  • of Questions to Randomly select: 10
  • of Pages to build: 3
  • Time limit per question: 300 (5 minutes)

Result:

  • 3 pages are created.
  • 4 questions on page 1. There will be 3 questions on the other pages.
  • Time limit will be 20 minutes (4 questions x 5 minutes) on Page 1.
  • On pages 2 and 3, Time Limits will be 15 minutes (3 questions x 5 minutes).

Questions on pages you create with Page Builder will override their specific Points and Dimensions.

You set the Points and Dimensions for these Questions collectively from the Page Builder window.

Import Pages

You can create multiple Questions on Pages easily by using Type & Paste method and then divide them into pages.

You need to type a dash “-” between Questions and two dashes “–” between pages.

EXAMPLE:

The following example creates 2 questions on page 1 and 1 question on page 2:

Percentage Value and Reporting Name of the Questions on Page 1 will be left empty.

Percentage Value and Reporting Name of the Questions on Page 2 will be entered.

You need to manually edit these values for related questions.What is your favorite color?

Black
White
Blue
Red

What is the capital of France?

London
Paris
Sophia
Prague

{“name”: “color”, “display”: {“direction”: “column”}} Which of the following is a color?

{“score”: 25} Silver
{“score”: 25} Red

Page Deletion

How to delete a Page from your Exam:

  1. Open the Exam in Exam Editor,
  2. Press the 3 dots on the same line as the Page you want to delete.
  3. Click the Delete button from the pop-up menu.
WARNING

Once a Page is deleted in the Exam Editor, it becomes inaccessible. It can’t be undone.

Page Settings

How to change the Settings of a Page:

  1. Open the Exam in Exam Editor
  2. Press the gear icon on the same line as the Page you want to edit.
  3. Page Settings window will open. From here, you can change:
    1. Page’s Title
    2. Sorting of Questions (Shuffle or keep current order)
    3. Time Limit settings

Page Title

How to assign a Title to Page:

  1. Open the Exam from the Exam Editor.
  2. Press the gear icon on the same line of the Page,
  3. The Page Settings window will open.
  4. Type the Title you want in Title field and press Save.

Page Sorting & Randomizing

If there is more than one Page in an exam, you can arrange these Pages’ order at random for each Applicant.

How to sort Pages randomly:

  1. Open the Exam from the Exam Editor.
  2. Press the gear icon of the Section where you want to randomize order of Pages,
  3. The Section Settings window will open.
  4. Select the Shuffle Pages center down and press Save.

How to fixate the order of some Pages while the Pages are sorted randomly:

  1. Open the Exam from the Exam Editor.
  2. Click the 3 dots on the left of the Page’s row.
  3. Select Keep the Order Fixed

If you want the order to be set again at random,

  1. Click the 3 dots on the left of the fixed Page’s row.
  2. Select Don’t Keep the Order Fixed.

Going Forward-Backward in Pages

How to set the permissions to move back and forth between Pages:

  1. Open the Exam from the Exam Editor.
  2. Press the gear icon of the Section where you want to change,
  3. The Section Settings window will open.
  4. Select the one you want from the drop-down box below:
    1. Allow going forward & backward: Applicants can go to the page they want in the exam Page.
    2. Allow only going backward: Applicants start the exam in the order given and can only go back to the Pages that they passed.
    3. Don’t allow going forward & backward: Applicants start the exam in the order given and cannot jump to another Page without finishing the current Page.
  5. and press Save.

Page Time Limit

How to add a Time Limit to a Page:

  1. Open the Exam from the Exam Editor.
  2. Press the gear icon on the same line of the Page,
  3. The Page Settings window will open.
  4. At the bottom right, click on No Time Limit.
    1. The default is 3600 seconds.
  5. Change the time limit as desired and press Save.
WARNING

Any changes you make to a page and its settings are saved instantly.
